Overview

I designed a short promotional carousel to introduce myself and my MFA thesis at MassArt, Digital Embodiment. The thesis moves away from the smartphone and uses creative technology to build tangible objects that help long-distance couples feel each other's presence. The posts end on Feelio, my third prototype, along with a short video of it working.

Challenge

A thesis about sensors, servos and presence is hard to explain in a feed that people scroll past in seconds. I needed to introduce who I am, state the idea behind the thesis, and show a physical prototype, all in a few portrait slides that stay readable on a phone.

Approach

I built the carousel as a sequence that moves from person to idea to object. The first slide pairs a black-and-white portrait with a large distressed "HELLO" and a bold condensed name. The second slide gives my background in advertising, branding and printing, with key phrases picked out in a bright green. The third introduces Feelio: a wrist sensor band and a red 3D-printed beacon holding three blue cubes. The fourth explains the logic: the cubes sit in a flat line, like a heart rate monitor, until the wearer moves, then they tilt to break the line. A textured black background and one accent color tie the set together.

Outcome

The result is a four-slide 1080 by 1350 carousel plus a short vertical video of the Feelio beacon in the studio, its cubes rotating in response to motion. Together they work as a quick public introduction to the thesis and a preview of the prototype.
