Overview
I art-directed and shot a set of food photos for BoxPark Pico, a fast-food brand with its own branded boxes, cups and wrappers. The menu covered jalapeno poppers, wraps, spicy fries, cold coffee, sliders and chicken strips. I edited the shots in Lightroom and built the final square posts in Photoshop and Illustrator.
Challenge
Fast food is easy to photograph in a way that looks like every other menu board. I wanted each image to feel like BoxPark specifically, show the branded packaging, and give each item a small idea or joke rather than just a plate on a table.
Approach
I shot most items from directly above and cut them out, then placed them on flat blocks and circles of yellow, red, teal and pink with a grain texture in places. Props carry the idea in each frame: a tape measure next to a long wrap, a red fire extinguisher printed with the BoxPark logo beside chili-dusted fries, a business book next to jalapeno poppers, and Cheetos-style crumbs scattered around three sliders. Hands appear in a few shots to add scale and movement, and the white BoxPark Pico wordmark sits in a corner of every frame.
Outcome
The set is seven square images sized for Instagram and Facebook, each pairing one menu item with its BoxPark packaging on a flat color background. Together they give the brand a consistent, bright photo style for its social feed.
